The land is a living sanctuary.

Long held as sacred ground, it has welcomed those seeking healing, neutrality, and reconnection—both with nature and with themselves.

Once called Hiyu Skookum, meaning “an abundance of something good and powerful,” the land continues to offer what it always has.

THE LAND is a 124-acre inholding of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument in the Ashland Mountains in Ashland, an enchanting place where you’ll feel connected to the land and the Indigenous People who gathered on this ground for peace and healing centuries ago.

THE LAND formerly known as Buckhorn Springs provides a unique environment nestled in its own small valley with a creek, old oaks, ponderosa pines, tall aromatic cedars, and open meadows. It’s ideal for small or large group gatherings.

After being cared for nearly 30 years by a wonderful family, the Land known as Buckhorn Springs is now owned by Return To Nature LLC. As of 2022, with extensive renovations and improvements completed, the next phase of this sacred land’s evolution is unfolding. We look forward to continuing and building upon the legacy of the healing lands and waters of Buckhorn Springs and welcoming back guests, old and new, to enjoy this beautiful southern Oregon oasis.
